The apartment on the 1st floor was extensively renovated and modernized in summer 2020 with a lot of heart and soul to give you and us a great vacation.
Relaxation with a view!
We have created a small oasis of peace in the basement. You are welcome to use our sauna including towels and a view of the basilica. To cover our expenses, we charge € 50.00 for a weekend stay (or 2 nights) and € 10.00 for each additional night/use. There is a small key safe next to the door to the sauna room. If you would like to use the sauna after a long mountain tour or a day of skiing, please let us know and we will give you the code. You can then leave the money in the “safe”.
The 1,400m² plot on a hillside offers plenty of space for little people to play and discover, as well as a retreat or two for older people to take a deep breath or enjoy the magnificent view to the full over a glass of wine.

Dahoam in Mariazell is located – how could it be otherwise – in the heart of Mariazell, right next to the new cable car at the foot of the Bürgeralpe. Whether summer or winter – you can ski, toboggan or cycle right to the front door!
You can reach the basilica, the center of Mariazell, in just 5 minutes on foot. Out of the door, downhill a little and you are in the middle of the pedestrian zone (Wiener Straße) of Mariazell.
Our house is the ideal starting point for hikes or bike tours and is located directly on the pilgrimage route (Via Sacra).
If you come by car, drive from the main square via Schießstattgasse into Viktor-Lang-Gasse. A small, narrow private road (dead end) then leads directly to the garage of our house (approx. 60 meters). From there it is a few steps down through the garden and you are already at your destination. If you have a lot or heavy luggage with you, we will be happy to help you transport it down/up with our own electric cable car.

Dahoam in Mariazell really is our home – at least when we are there!
In the last 12 years we have lived in 5 different countries, but our hearts still beat strongest for home. This house is our anchor, our retreat – our home and we try to be here as often as we can.
We currently live in Abu Dhabi, but are still available for you at any time and have both our family and friends on site who can help you with advice and support.

If you don’t want to walk that far, you can also take the Himmelstreppe or the museum tramway! (https://www.mariazellerbahn.at/) To cool off after a long hike, we recommend a dip in the crystal-clear Erlaufsee! Not only children, swimmers and sun worshippers get their money’s worth here, but also divers, surfers, stand-up paddlers and pedal boaters! The region with its idyllic snow-covered winter landscape also has something to offer for those who prefer a more leisurely pace. Extensive cross-country ski trails, numerous winter hiking trails or snowshoe/touring ski trails, ice skating and curling to name but a few…
